Volkswagen announced on the 1st that it will unveil the world's first new Pasat for the 9th generation of medium-sized wagon at 'IAA Mobility 2023', which will open in Munich, Germany on the 5th.
The new Pasat will be released in the first quarter of next year as a variant model. The new Pasat will include two new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models with 204 horsepower and 272 horsepower, as well as an e-hybrid lineup. It is equipped with a 19.7kWh battery, so it can drive about 100 kilometers just by driving with electricity.
In addition, a 150-horsepower eTSI model, a 48V mild hybrid version, was added for the first time. The internal combustion engine model is equipped with two 2.0L gasoline TSI engines that exert 204 horsepower and 265 horsepower, and three 2.0L TDI engines that produce 122 horsepower, 150 horsepower and 193 horsepower.
Meanwhile, Volkswagen operates an open experience exhibition space "Open Space" designed under the theme of "Conversation" during IAA Mobility 2023. The exhibition space introduces a wide range of product portfolios, including internal combustion engines, plug-in hybrids, ID.Family, a lineup of pure electric vehicles, and concept cars that will be unveiled for the first time.
